Brake Emissions Analysis: PM10 and PM2.5

TecSA R&D offers advanced solutions for the precise measurement and analysis of brake particulate matter emissions, with a specific focus on the PM10 and PM2.5 fractions.

Our system is designed to ensure regulatory compliance and provide reliable data for research and development, all the way up to Euro 7 and UN GTR No. 24 homologation testing.

Key System Features:

  • Dedicated Enclosure: Stainless steel structure.
  • Environmental Control Unit (ECU): Precise control of temperature (23°C ± 2°C) and relative humidity (50% ± 5%) for optimal testing conditions.
  • Particulate Sampling: High-precision instrumentation for measuring particulate mass (PM10 and PM2.5), particle number (TPN10), and solid particle number (SPN10).
  • Piping: Particulate transport piping system.
  • TC 100 Emissions Dynamometer: Capability to integrate the emissions analysis system with the TC 100 dynamometer.
  • Clean Room: A controlled environment to ensure reliable gravimetric measurements, supported by ultra-micro precision balances.
  • Micrometric Balance

Measured Parameters:

  • SPN10 (Solid Particle Number)
  • TPN10 (Total Particle Number)
  • PM10 (Particulate Matter ≤ 10µm – Particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 10 micrometers)
  • 5 (Particulate Matter ≤ 2.5µm – Particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 2.5 micrometers)

Advantages:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Designed in compliance with ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRPE/2023/4, Euro 7, and UN GTR No. 24.
  • Modularity and Flexibility: Suitable for a variety of tests, from WLTP cycles to performance and NVH testing.
  • Customizable Solutions: Retrofit options for existing dynamometers or custom configurations with specialized technical support.
  • Possibility of client-requested customizations

Applications:

  • Testing on light commercial vehicles for UN GTR No. 24 (Euro 7) compliance.
  • Laboratory particulate matter measurements for research and development.
  • Brake emissions analysis for prototypes and production vehicles.
